“Life@ Radio Fm”

All of us know “roti, kapda and makan” are the basic needs of our life. But in today’s life these three are no more the only basic needs: mobile phones, internet and ofcourse Radio Fm have recently but significantly got themselves placed comfortably into the list. I can’t think of a day without any one of these. I can still remember those old days when I had used to listen to radio for just one hour a day before going to bed- and unfortunately, sometimes even missing out that one hour entertainment. How I loved to listen to the programme “Aap Ki Farmaish” in Vivid Bharti where a particular song, requested by a group of people, and the host announcing those people’s names in a single breath before broadcasting the song “Is gane ko farmaish ki hai (this song is being requested by) chinki, pinki, pappu, sabita, dabbu”. However, songs were mainly from old Hindi movies. But with the increasing affordability and availability of Television and other entertainment sources, radio was almost on the way to history. People started using Television. Transformation of Black & white TV to color TV, then cable TV, internet, mobile phones etc brought in a paradigm shift in the taste and preference of people. People almost forgot about radio.

But scenario has changed drastically after FM came into existence. Radio once again revived and stood up with the same glory it had once in the past. Breaking through the competition-gelled list of TV, mobile phones, internet etc, FM placed Radio once again at a level much sorted after. In fact Radio FM has now become no 1 entertainment medium for the young generation. It has re-engineered the boring image of radio to a full packed entertainment image. Now don’t get any more bored with playing the same CDs, same cassettes again and again. Radio FM gives you total surprise strings of songs- you just don’t know what will be the next song you are going to listen to.

For me Radio Fm is no less than any energy capsule. I use to travel almost 3.5hours everyday by bus. Hats off to my patience. “201 Jainabad”. 201 is the bus number, the only direct bus from my home (@Begharia) to my office (@Salt Lake). Travelling in local trains @office time is just like going to a war without any weapons. But one of the reasons why after such a hectic and monotonous journey I never feel tired is because of the FM in my mobile phone. All you need to make sure is that you get a seat to place your ass comfortably. But sometimes problem is still there. Buses are so crowded during the office time that even if you are sitting you can feel someone’s hand falling on your head, someone’s bag beating your shoulder and so on. Think, as you are starting to lose your temper and about to burst out your anger, the song “ Masakali Masakali” starts playing in one of the FM channels: I swear your anger will melt down like an ice and you would feel it’s Masakali doing masti in your head and shoulder

There are many fm channels- each wanting to increase its no of listeners. So all of them try to broadcast more and more hit numbers. Competition exists in every field. Competition between FM channels means we will get to listen to more and more musics. It becomes more colourful and more entertaining. Today Radio FM is not restricted to just oldies. We can take the maza of all kinds of songs. You can enjoy your favorite songs just by changing or scanning the channels.

Listening to FM (in mobile phones) while doing coding is becoming a new trend in software companies:Really, Radio Fm has brought a revolution in the world of entertainment. Here I have tried to cover many things but still left many. Why don’t u post your comment along with some new ideas…..
