Cubicle Adda@Office

Just reminisce those beautiful days we had spent during the off periods in our schools and colleges. Just feel those wonderful days which we had spent in college canteens and games periods in schools. Those were really one of the most fantastic days of our life. I wish I could bring those days back.

But now life has changed drastically. Life has become very much monotonous and mechanical with reaching office at sharp 10am rushing to check the inbox if there is any mail from onsite. A day with no mails from onsite is like a virtual holiday. Usually, onsite mails means requirements and workloads which can make you busy for the day and exhaust by the end of the day. So the day your inbox is free of these onsite mails you are on a virtual holiday. But these virtual holidays come its own limitations. You cannot bunk your office and go to watch movies. Neither can you spent more time in office canteens nor in tea stalls. Maximum time of these virtual holidays are being spent in the cubicle pretending to do some work .After all company pays you for your 9 hrs of presence in the office. Again don’t forget someone is watching your activities. Your PL is no less than your class teacher in school. He can inform the principal of your school i.e the account manager of your account which in the long run can badly affect your mark sheet…oops!! Not mark sheet dear!! Your rating and time span in your project/account.

But after all, we are human beings and we know how to keep ourselves happy. We know how to adjust ourselves in such adverse situations. It’s all about maintaining a good rapo with the people around you and discovering some colleagues who are as enthusiastic as you are in celebrating a virtual holiday. And to add something spicier to your celebration, you must have some luck enough to get a good cubicle. By good cubicle I mean a place somewhere near a corner where your activities cannot be monitored easily. One of my friends is always unlucky in this case and always ends up sitting beside her BOSS.

A Cubicle ADDA consists of many topics: technical discussions, personal discussion, general discussion and many more. It varies from age to age and gender to gender. Very common discussions are like whose Boy Friend did what? Whose wife says what? Who is going to onsite, whose is moving to which project, discussion about just released movies etc. A typical girlie talks are like who has bought what in the Durga Puja Whose in-laws did what. Some other general discussions are like whose Pl is cool whose Pl is” khadus” bla bla.

Some restrictions are definitely there. You cannot talk loud; you cannot laugh in high volume. Some topics are like this which cannot be discussed 100% at your cubicle. Hence the remaining discussion has to be completed in the tea stall. If your Pl is cool then sometimes you can enjoy the cubicle adda openly and on certain occasions your Pl also joins the discussion. But if your Pl is a strict class teacher your dream of a virtual holiday celebration can be a total disaster .Even if you have no work or feeling bore you still have no choice but staying bored glued to your cubicle Unless and until your Pl is going outside somewhere.you have to wait- “ ki kab pl cigeratte pine ya chai pine jayega aur tum khulke adda mar sako” and when ur pl returns all team members are ought to be back to their respective places. But it has got some other charms. You feel thrilled when you do something against the rules. Whether it is a secret affair hidden from your parents or secret adda or doing something without your Pl’s knowledge.

Anyways whatever be the situation whatever be your surroundings whatever be the circumstances just enjoy your life.
